The UNSC's primary weapon is the Magnetic Accelerator Cannon (MAC). It's a giant railgun running the length of the ship.
The Stats (Super-MAC)
- Projectile: 3,000-ton Ferric-Tungsten slug.
- Speed: 4% the speed of light (12,000 km/s).
- Kinetic Energy: $K = rac{1}{2}mv^2$.
- This impacts with the force of roughly 50 Gigatons of TNT.
- For context, the Tsar Bomba (largest nuke ever) was 0.05 Gigatons.
