Slipspace Debt Calculator

Calculate temporal drift in FTL travel.

📜 The Origins

Human slipspace drives are messy. They punch a hole in dimension, but they rarely come out exactly when (or where) they intended.

🚀 Master the Tool

Input your journey distance. We'll calculate the 'debt' you owe the universe in lost time.

Dimensional Slipstream

In Halo, the Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine allows ships to rupture normal space and enter "The Slipstream." Like the 40k Warp, it breaks physics, but unlike the Warp, there are no demons, just math.

Wake Turbulence

When a massive object (assault carrier) enters/exits Slipspace, it creates radiation (Cherenkov radiation) and gravitational distortions. This is how the UNSC detects Covenant fleets before they arrive. "Slipspace Rupture Detected."

The Debt

Slipspace travel builds up "debt" in the fabric of spacetime. If too many ships jump at once (or travel too fast), the dimension becomes unstable. Precursor roads famously ignored safe limits and eventually solidified spacetime itself.

Pro tips
01Forerunner crystal shards reduce drift to zero.
02The Cole Protocol requires random jumps.
03Watch out for random exit vectors.

The Fine Print (FAQ)

Is it wormhole travel?
Sort of. It's more like crumpling a piece of paper (space) and punching a hole through to the other side.
Why are Covenant ships faster?
They use reverse-engineered Forerunner drives. They can pinpoint jump inside a planet's atmosphere. Humans have to jump to the outskirts of a system to be safe.
What is the Domain?
A Precursor information repository stored in Slipspace itself. Basically, the Akashic Records of the universe.
